Workshops

Join us in the studio for some artmaking with your little ones. We will have a variety of materials to explore each Saturday. One day may be clay and another recyled materials and another fabrics. We will have an example of a project using the materials but please make whatever your minds can come up with. You can check our Calendar for the material for OPEN studio. A teacher will be onsite to answer questions but not to instruct. Please plan for about an hour of engagement.

Join us for some family printing using a rug mat, packaging cardboard, rubber bands, wood, my grandmother's doilies, kitchen tools. Come explore printmaking with your little one, to make note cards or placecards or collaborative artworks. We are breaking out some of our beautiful vegetable stamps for this one to combine and layer patterns. 

A handmade Menorah is something to be treasured forever. There is a basic anatomy to one but also a lot of freedom in what the structure looks like. First we will build the menorah from a low fire clay by forming, sculpting, twisting, rolling a menorah, we will set to dry a bit, then glaze it. When it dries fully, I will fire it in the kiln just in time for Hanukah.

What’s better than a hand-made greeting card. Make your own using the foam printing technique. It’s a simple colorful printing process that allows you to make many cards at a time. They can be sent to relatives, given to teachers, strung together to make a banner or hung up as an ornament. 

Join us for an hour of making clay Winter Fairy Houses . We have so many sparkly materials and some natural ones like seed pods and twigs and rocks and don't forget the snow to make little wintery house scenes.

Using recycled jars we will create little wonderlands using trees and animals and ribbon and bobbles and such adding glitter and fake snow. I have great supplies but please, if you would like a certain theme (star wars, princesses) then you are welcome to bring some of your own figures to add to these scenes.
