Kids Art Classes
We offer art classes for ages 2-11
The classes here are organized by days of the week, Mondays first, Sunday last so you can easily find classes on a particular day. We do not prorate for missed classes.
All of our classes are process oriented, meaning we ultimately focus on the process rather than what the end product looks like. Some of our classes revolve around a medium, drawing, printmaking, ceramics or textiles and for little ones we offer themes such as Animals or Under the Sea or Fairylands. These classes explore the theme with a variety of materials. Our Process classes follow the seasons for making art. By engaging this way we encourage the children to see the possibilities in their environment outside of the walls of our studio.
We are very thoughtful with the age limits for our classes and work hard to create projects that are age appropriate. Please respect our age restrictions.
If your child is on the spectrum or has a learning challenge, please reach out to us to discuss whether we are a good fit before registering.
We are offering a mini session of 3 week classes for December. In the afternoon classes your children will be working on one in depth project all 3 weeks.
process play- Tuesdays

For Ages 2, 3
This is a process oriented class focused on furthering your child's creative confidence. While exploring all kinds materials, clay, glue, wood, recycled materials, beads, buttons and fabric students will learn to problem solve, verbalize their ideas and further creative thinking. They will participate in the joyful learning through exploring sensory based materials while learning age appropriate skills.

gingerbread house

For Ages 4, 5, 6
Kids will make their own Gingerbread house from cardboard, making creative decisions and adding as many wintery, sparkly things as they can.

sew a softie

For Ages 6, 7, 8, 9
In this 3 weeks class session children will dye their own fabric, learn some hand sewing stiches and sew their own stuffed animal or creature or cloud or mushroom or whatever they like.

For Ages 2, 3, 4

ceramic winter village

For Ages 7, 8, 9, 10+
In this 3 week class students will spend the first 2 classes building a wintery village with snowmen, penguins, snowfoxes and little trees and the last one glazing the lands. Once they are fully dry, we will fire them in the kiln and let you know when they are ready to pick them up.

process art -Thursdays

For Ages 3, 4, 5
This is a process oriented class, designed for a parent/caregiver and child interactive, learning experience. While introducing your child to all kinds of materials, clay, glue, beads, buttons fabric. We'll explore printing, painting, sculpting, cutting and gluing. Some of the projects will be collaborative between adult and child but most will be watching what your child can do. Adult must be present to interact with child. The class is seasonally themed for fall, winter and spring.

winter diorama

For Ages 5, 6, 7
Students will create a Winter Wonderland in a box by making their own snowflake background and a village foreground with lots of sparly additions and of course some animals too.

winter printmaking

For Ages 6, 7, 8
Printmaking is such unique artform that lends itself to making multiples. But here students will explore both monoprinting and multuple printing inspired by winter.

Using papermache students will make little winter creatures, snowman, snowleapard, snowfox. The choice is up to them.
